Welding

Welding of wire, tube or strip takes place on the plants of Schmale Maschinenbau GmbH automated in individual stations by laser or resistance welding. Different shaped or supplied parts can be welded together. Welding stations are installed in our wire bending machines type X2000NC or our clamping ring machines, but also in our tube bending machines as well as in our special machines. The pictures show some typical applications for welded wire, tube or strip parts.

As one of the leading manufacturers of modular, automated systems for the forming of wire, pipe and strip, we combine and install aggregates for all industrial forming processes on one machine.

Welding in forming technology

Welding production technology has a long history dating back to ancient times. Welding allows components to be joined inexpensively and with high strength. Because of its numerous advantages over other technologies, welding is still one of the most important and common joining methods. In general, welding is understood to mean the connection of components by heat and / or pressure. Occasionally welding consumables are used to connect the components. In today's industrial production, the process has been differentiated into a variety of different welding processes. Before welding, the weldability of the material to be welded must be checked and the appropriate welding procedure selected. In addition to qualitative considerations based on the properties of the materials, economic factors also play a role here. Thus, the expected number of products to be welded, the cost of the welding machine and the requirements for the quality of the products must be taken into account. It is understood that when welding a connection is to be produced, which has the highest possible strength and thus durability. Naturally, there are different requirements for the quality of the components to be welded in the respective components and applications.

Efficient welding with Schmale

Schmale machines are designed to automatically link different technologies. This modular system, consistently implemented by Schmale, makes it possible to serialize technologies such as welding, compression, bending and flattening. Automated welding thus becomes a manufacturing option for the customer that can be combined with other technologies as needed. The possibility of combining the technologies together results in significantly increased production flexibility. The engineering office of Schmale plans and completes machines individually according to customer requirements: special machines that are designed to meet very specific production requirements, up to modular machining centers with a variety of expansion options are realized. Such automation in welding in conjunction with other technologies has a positive effect on all production parameters. In addition, digital control systems will make it much easier to integrate traditional manufacturing techniques such as welding to the factory of the future, which will involve increasing interconnectivity of all components.
